how to choose
You have to make choices every day.  Some are easy and others more complex. Some are life-changing and others are not.  However, whatever you choose to do or not to do, will have either an insignificant or significant impact on your life.  Every day you are making life decisions. The key for each and every one of us is to make the choices that are right for us.

When you stop and think about it; it is quite fascinating how we resolve problems or how our preferences in life directs us. Of course, we are not going to stress over the unimportant choices.  Most of us are more concerned with and may ponder over the more meaningful life-changing dilemmas.  What is your thought process for deciding on what to do when faced with an important or moral decision?

At times you may find yourself wondering, have I come to the right conclusion?  Yes, there will be judgments that we make in life in which we know were right.  On the other hand, there will be determinations that we make that will not be right.  I am sure you can remember the times in the past when you were right and when you were wrong. Make sure you have learned from past bad choices to avoid repeating them in the future.

How to Decide

We are not always able to predict the consequences of what we choose.  How to decide whether the choice is good or bad may not always be obvious.  However, we must learn to accept and live with our final choice.  If your ultimate decision was not the best one, then make it positive by finding the opportunities in the situation.

There are many types of issues you will need to settle in life, which will involve a lot more thought and action than what is provided here in this article.  Here are a few ideas that may help you in making selections . . .

Gather as much information or do research in regards to the problem.  In doing so, will help you in reaching a better settlement, increasing your confidence to move forward with what you decided.  Start by asking yourself the following basic questions, then dig deeper:

-What is the exact situational issue or problem that needs to be resolved?

-Who are the people involved?  How are they involved?

-What or who is the root cause of the problem?

-When did the issue begin?  What happened?

-What will happen if it is not resolved?

-If applicable, what is your part in this situation?  How are you responsible for being part of the problem?

-What are your options?

Brainstorm and determine what options are available.  Once you have identified all of your options.  Weigh the pros and cons of each option and its consequence.  Decide which one is the best one based on the situation, people involved, consequences, risks, losses, gains, and more.

Final Decision

?

Now that you have determined your final decision, ask yourself, “Do I trust that I came to the right conclusion?”  Remember sometimes we will have to choose things in life in which everyone involved will not be happy.  However, are you able to live with this reality?  How will you deal with your emotions knowing you had to pick an option in which everyone did not benefit and are not happy?  How will you resolve some of the issues that may arise in your home or work life as a result?

Always choose to do the right thing.  Ask yourself, “What is my motivation behind this decision?”  Pray about it and ask for guidance from the Higher Power.  Paying attention to what your intuition is telling you is helpful.  Does your selection align with your vision, values, convictions, and beliefs?  Is it the best way to resolve the situation or problem?

Learning from your past experiences regarding how you settled issues will help to equip you with knowledge you can reference in the future.  The way we choose to solve things does have an impact on our lives.  Changing Your Life Coaching is dedicated to helping people change their lives.  If you would like support in making better choices in life, then schedule your Complimentary Coaching Session today to learn more about how we can help.
