Have you been struggling with how to balance your home and work life?
Get started by reading the Finding A Balance In Life Guide for techniques.
It is that time of year again which you may be feeling more pressure than usual.  There is so much going on and so much that needs to be done.  I know it is easier said than done, but make it a point to be aware of when you are feeling stressed.  Make your stress work for you instead of against you.

There are two types of stress.  Stress can be good or bad.  The good stress is called eustress which helps to motivate you, keep you focused, and get things done.  However, our bodies cannot handle prolonged periods of stress. We need time to unwind and relax physically and mentally.  As you know, continuous negative stress can cause health risks.

It is all about balancing your home and work life, so that you have time to rest and enjoy the activities and people that are most important to you.  Think about what you can do to minimize negative stress in your life.  I believe that there is no one that can truly say they are stress free.

Here are some ways you can make bad stress work for you instead of against you . . .

Identify Your Stress

Start with making a list of the most significant things that cause you to feel stressed at home, work, in relationships, financially, family, etc.

Review your list and make a note by each stressor how you can get rid of the stress, change it to work for you, embrace it, or turn it from negative to positive.  Ask yourself how can I reduce it and make it work for me?  Make adjustments which will benefit you, so that you are able to do something you enjoy; such as, reading, visiting friends, or simply relaxing.

You Have The Power

You have the power to decide to what extent you will let certain stressors affect you.  Stress can only impact you to the level you allow it.  It is up to you to turn stress into a stimulus that motivates you or into distress that affects your mental or physical health.

Realizing the power that you have to control how you respond to stress, can give you a new outlook on certain situations in life.  Think about managing your stress as an exciting challenge, instead of misery and despair.
